I periodically clear out my devices from stuff that I don’t need anymore - like old photos, documents, downloaded files or apps, but I’m doing much more than that! I also request removals of any data off search engines that is connected to my legal name! In Europe you have the right to be forgotten and I’m very grateful for it. It really facilitates the process. However, that’s not all - my online presence and accounts matter as much as the stuff mentioned before. I remove old unused accounts, check the bio’s, followed accounts and everything else, to remove the stuff I don’t identify anymore with. Same thing happens with my playlists.

But, why am I doing it?

It allows me to have a bit of fresh air in the digital space! - Everything feels (and is) more clear, stuff that is left is actually there for a reason, so I don’t get overwhelmed with the sheer amount of data. Another thing is that it’s safer for me! There’s a less chance that someone finds something personal about me, that I didn’t want to be public.

Remember, that everything that is public about you decides how other’s perceive you! Would you like to be not employed because the employer finds your controversial comment?

Take care of your online presence!
